Season 1:
The series starts with Danny Rand, thought dead for 15 years in a plane accident in the Himalayas, coming back to New York City. He pretends to be the heir to Rand Enterprises, but his old friends, the Meacham’s, Ward and Joy, have him committed to a mental hospital. Danny says he was saved by monks from K’un-Lun and trained in martial arts to become the Iron Fist, a mystical warrior. Initially skeptical, Joy learns to trust him — through a series of meaningful tests.
Danny flees the hospital with his Iron Fist powers and seeks sanctuary with martial arts teacher Colleen Wing. They become all sorts of bonded, and Danny’s presence upsets the apple cart of Rand Enterprises, now under the control of Ward and the allegedly dead Harold Meacham, who has survived in secret thanks to a deal with the Hand, a white-suited secretive organization. While Danny struggles to reclaim his family legacy and defend the city, he learns his fight against the Hand is far from finished. And we end the season with Danny and Colleen discovering the monks of K’un-Lun slaughtered, a major failure of Danny’s mission as the Iron Fist.
Season 2:
Danny Rand has made a home in New York with Colleen Wing, where they have taken on menial jobs and picked up the mantle of vigilante work to restore order in the city. The old friend of his, Davos, comes back in vengeance, thinking that he is the real Iron Fist. A previous Iron Fist’s body gets into Davos’s hands, and he uses an ancient bowl along with Danny’s blood in a ritual to transfer the power to himself. Believing himself a savior, Davos, with his new-found powers, waged a ruthless campaign against the city's gangs.
As Davos’s acts grow increasingly violent, Danny joins forces with Colleen and Misty Knight, a detective sporting a bionic arm, to defeat him. They call on the Crane Sisters to do a counter-ritual to get the Iron Fist power back. Danny and Colleen must fight Davos and his gang of recruited youths in the final confrontation. Danny, despite his grievous wounds and with some help from his friends, finally defeats Davos — and Colleen ends up with the Iron Fist power.
Season ends with Danny seeking Orson Randall, a former Iron Fist, for guidance and power, and Colleen becoming the Iron Fist to protect New York's Chinatown.
