Info in Movie News | Netflix has officially confirmed that the popular Japanese series Alice in Borderland will return for a third season, slated for release in 2025. The news was confirmed via an official social media announcement on Wednesday, February 12th. Along with the announcement, Netflix released the first official picture for Alice in Borderland season 3. The image features the three leads on top of a building, looking out at the Joker card flag.
The caption accompanying the post reads, "You don't know yet. The final “gem”. Netflix Series Alice in BorderLand Season 3. To be distributed in 2025! The “continuation” of the astonishing ending in Season 2 is about to begin again...".

Netflix Japan's official account also confirmed that the third season of AIB would pick up from where the second season left off. The pivotal moment marking the end of season 2 was the appearance of the Joker card after Arisu and his comrades survived the Borderland.
However, there’s currently no information regarding the broadcasting schedule for Alice in Borderland season 3. The premise of the upcoming season along with its official trailer are yet to be unveiled.
The confirmation of AIB season 3 comes nearly nine months after the release of its second season in December 2022. Netflix further affirmed that actors Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya would reprise their roles of Arisu and Usagi respectively, in the upcoming season.
On social media, Alice in Borderland unveiled the Joker card, hinting it as a teaser for the potential plot twists in store for season 3.
Season 2 of Alice in Borderland concluded with the remaining survivors deciding whether to remain in Borderland or not. Those choosing not to stick around awaken in a hospital.
At the same time, the Alice in Borderland season 2 ending did follow, to some degree, its manga source material, especially the appearance of the Joker card.
It was based on the original work, where all major plots were sealed at the appearance of Joker, after which AIB went on with two manga spin-offs: Alice on Border Road and Alice in Borderland: Retry.
As of now, the source material - whether it will be a manga adaptation or original story - for Alice in Borderland’s 3rd season remains unconfirmed. Still, fans would be chomping at the bit for the new twists and turns and potential source material mysteries the much-awaited AIB season 3 brings.
