The Fantastic Four: First Steps to Hit on Theaters in July 2025 (Trailer)

from Marvel Youtube Channel

Info in Movie News | The next most up beat offering is “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” which resurrects a retro-futuristic Manhattan in the 1960s. We also learned from Kevin Feige recently on a Marvel podcast that, for the story, the film takes place in a period piece, and it's in New York City, so we may see a different NYC than the MCU.

This being the latest incarnation of the example and difference from previous interpretations done by 20th Century Fox The 2005 version featured Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis, while the 2015 reboot, which stumbled at the box office, starred Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell. Chris Evans, who starred as Captain America during the MCU, another brief cameo as the Human Torch in “Deadpool & Wolverine,” where he met a less fortunate fate. That Mister Fantastic cameo by John Krasinski in “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” was also short but impactful before he met a similar fate.

The new movie is trying to pay homage to the characters’ original comic book costumes, solidifying their connection to the bigger Marvel narrative.

Directed by Matt Shakman, who also helmed “WandaVision,” the screenplay is by Peter Cameron, Josh Friedman and Jeff Kaplan. The film is produced by Kevin Feige, and features Jess Hall as the director of photography and Michael Giacchino as the composer.

The cast includes some heavy hitters: “The Last of Us” alum Pedro Pascal will play Mr. Fantastic; “Napoleon’s” Vanessa Kirby will portray the Invisible Woman; “Stranger Things”’ Joseph Quinn will play the Human Torch; and “The Bear”’s Ebon Moss-Bachrach will portray the Thing. Additional cast includes Ralph Ineson as Galactus, Julia Garner as the Silver Surfer, and Paul Walter Hauser, Natasha Lyonne and John Malkovich.

If they can pull off such a masterful cast, we might just be seeing the return of the Fantastic Four to the MCU narrative arc in glorious technicolor.

New trailer just dropped for “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” and fans can’t be at least a little excited. The film is set to hit theaters this July, and MCU fans are anxious to see where it lands in the grand tapestry that is the MCU.
