Info in Movie News | After a gap of three years since the first season premiered, Chainsaw Man is finally back with a new look. However, instead of a second season, the franchise will roll out its first-ever feature-length film entitled Chainsaw Man—The Movie: Reze Arc. This film will be an adaptation of the Bomb Girl Arc, which was teased a little in the post-credit scene of the last episode of the series.
According to Collider, Chainsaw Man's official Twitter/X account has released the latest trailer for the film. The clip exhibits a newcomer character, Reze, who is a blue-haired girl and the central figure of the film. Furthermore, the teaser also features a clip of intense action and a sneak peek of an antagonist who will be the threat to Denji and the other Devil Hunters. The trailer was finalized with an official announcement that the film would be released on September 19, 2025.
Studio MAPPA, which was the studio behind the Chainsaw Man anime series before, was again entrusted to handle this project. The movie will be directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara, who has been part of both Chainsaw Man and Black Clover productions before. Returning to the screen as the main animation studio, the fans are hopeful that the animation quality they were presented with in the first season will be just as dazzling.
Chainsaw Man is a manga series that was written by Tatsuki Fujimoto and initially published in 2018. Upon the background of a world where demons that arise from people's fear, the story follows Denji, a poor boy who binds the contract with the Chainsaw Devil named Pochita. Quelling the menace of different fatal threats, he joins the devil hunter team based on the division of the safeguard of the public.
As of now, Chainsaw Man anime only has one season available on Crunchyroll. Despite getting high accolades from critics with a 97% score on Rotten Tomatoes, there is still no official confirmation for the season two. The release of this film has enabled fans to experience the continuation of Denji's story on the big screen before further updates about the serial project have been disclosed.
The movie Chainsaw Man—The Movie: Reze Arc is going to be shown in theaters on 19 September 2025. In the meantime, fans can return to watch the first season on Crunchyroll or read the corresponding manga to get to know the story line that will be adapted more in depth.
