Catching Up: Previous Demon Slayer Films and Storyline

Demon Slayer: Mugen Train, the first movie in the series, was the one that hit the market and Mugen Castle was not even on the map. The movie premiered in 2020 and turned out to be the top-grossing anime film in history, overtaking Spirited Away made by Studio Ghibli.

Mugen Train is actually not a stand-alone, it is a canon continuation of the first part of the anime. The film was projected of Tanjiro, Nezuko, Zenitsu, and Inosuke. This was a part of them together with Flame Hashira Kyojuro Rengoku who was the only one able to fight the demon Enmu that was on the train. This movie was like a first episode for Season 2 because it threw into the audience the Entertainment District arc as well as Tengen Uzui the Sound Hashira and a battle against Daki and Gyutaro, the Upper Moon 6 demons.

Season 3 then took fans to the Swordsmith Village Arc, where Tanjiro, alongside Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokito and Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji, faced off against Upper Moon 4 Hantengu and Upper Moon 5 Gyokko.
