Info in Movie News | Disney+'s latest drama, Hyper Knife, is set to rock the screen with an unconventional medical story. Unlike traditional medical dramas, Hyper Knife presents a mix of rivalry, betrayal, and illegal operations carried out by a genius doctor with a dark past.
According to Soompi, Hyper Knife tells the story of Jeong Se Ok (Park Eun Bin), a talented former neurosurgeon who lost everything after her license was revoked. Her downfall was not due to a common medical mistake, but rather the betrayal of her own mentor, Choi Deok Hee (Sul Kyung Gu). Six years later, they meet again in a tense situation, bearing old wounds that have not healed and resentment that has not been avenged.
Jeong Se Ok and Choi Deok Hee are tied in a mentor-student relationship that turns into a dangerous psychological game. Sul Kyung Gu describes their dynamic as something unusual, while Park Eun Bin highlights the intensity of their relationship causing them to lock each other in an inevitable conflict.
Ostracized from the official medical world, Jeong Se Ok chooses a dangerous path by performing illegal operations. In her quest, she works with Han Hyun Ho (Park Byung Eun), who is a specialist in anesthesia and, at the same time, her big admirer that even doubts her decisions. "She's a marvelous doctor that on the other hand is prone to do the things that give me a pause," Park Byung Eun states. This situation reports the struggle between one's prospective brilliance and the morality of healthcare.
In addition to facing rivalry with her mentor, Jeong Se Ok has a complex relationship with Seo Young Joo (Yoon Chan Young), a man she once saved. For Young Joo, Jeong Se Ok is not just a saviour, but someone to be protected at all costs. "He sees Se Ok as his own," reveals Park Eun Bin. Meanwhile, Yoon Chan Young added that his character would not hesitate to do anything for Se Ok.
Hyper Knife presents medical tension with deep psychological intrigue. With characters full of ambition, resentment, and moral dilemmas, this drama is set to deliver a story different from the usual medical dramas. Watch Hyper Knife, starting March 19 on Disney+.
