Info in Movie News | Once again Nicolas Cage is back in action. This time he plays the lead role in Gunslingers, a high-speed Western thriller, which is to be released in theaters on April 11.
Heath Graham and Stephen Dorff are in the same acting field with Nicholas Cage, and their roles are the main ones that are combined with heavy shootouts, black humor, as well as kind of Cage's personal brand of oddities. Ben (Cage) has the reason to keep non-native including the fact that the town is seedy, the action takes place in the darkness as it is getting dark and the gunshots are common. The film is set in Redemption, Oklahoma with only one resident having no criminal past. The police are searching for a suspect of murder (Thomas Keller) and their attempt to capture leads to the fight. The action shoots up with the characters and soon Ben taunts defiantly, “Praise the Lord!” before the mayhem continues.
Bryan Skiba is the man behind Gunslingers film, and this is a film that can be nicely described as a modern, energy-fueled movie that has a lot of West neon signs in it. This is not Cage's first appearance in the genre as he also starred in The Old Way but now he is doing a bit of satire.
As for other main characters, they are played by Scarlet Rose Stallone and Tzi Ma, who are delivering a nice piece of work in the film and even more talented cast, Gunslingers succeeds in combining tones of gritty wit with runaway scenarios.
Nicolas also joins the cast of The Surfer, a psychological thriller directed by Lorcan Finnegan, which premiered on May 2. Nicolas as a character whom the audience gets to meet for the first time took to the surfboard instead of the horse playing Hem, a man who is being threatened by suspicious neighbors in his home town Australia.
