Ritsuko is the youngest of the girls who are among the survivors hence her father’s death because of the long flight of G-force and the youngest girl informs Daigo about the second crash and the crash site, X, was debunked and hence had to be explained. The sun had already gone down before he reached Kuge; he felt lost in the darkness and hoped that the villagers would offer him the warmth and shelter that he would so need. Agawa is drawn deeper into the village’s secrets, suspecting that the Goto family practices endocannibalism—the ritualistic eating of their dead.

His son Mashiro unwittingly stumbles upon chilling evidence when he receives a human finger as a gift from a mysterious man in the forest. Meanwhile, the daughter of the missing policeman, Sumire Kano, reappears, accusing the Goto family of murdering her father. As Agawa continues his investigation, he faces resistance from the villagers and the Goto family, leading to violent confrontations.

The deeper Agawa digs, the more he learns about the dark rituals of Kuge village—a horrifying tradition where children are sacrificed and eaten during a sacred festival. The Goto family's influence is far-reaching, even extending to law enforcement, making it nearly impossible for Agawa to expose the truth. When he finally discovers a prison of kidnapped children hidden within the village, he realizes the full scale of their crimes.

In a desperate attempt to stop the Goto family, Agawa allies himself with a journalist named Utada, who has been investigating the village’s history. However, the Goto family executes Utada before he can publish his findings, and Agawa finds himself cornered. There has been a rise in incidence of brutality over the past few months, and the village is getting ready to have a ghoulish ritual where all the people are expected to eat human flesh. Agawa gets caught and wakes up in a situation where Keisuke Goto, standing next to him, is offering him some human meat to eat. Everything is falling into place, Goto is not only a war criminal, but a cannibal, and to add to his misery he has to eat human meat, which he believes to be a person's, it is the time to give up.

The last season finishes on an ominous note that gives an impression that Agawa might not get out--and, seemingly, this is still just the beginning of the terrors of Kuge village.
