Info in Movie News | Hollywood just can’t seem to pass on tiring Glen Powell with high-energy, action-packed roles. After filming Top Gun: Maverick and working on Twisters, Powell decided to embark on his new career challenge — playing in The Running Man, an adaptation of Stephen King’s novel. The version that Wright is undergoing— well known for his unmistakable visual style and his dark humour— is something outstanding.
According to Collider, the film was sneak peeked at CinemaCon by Paramount only for the attendees. The clip had Powell as Ben fighting his way into a death game as the only option to make money for his family. On the other side, Josh Brolin appears as the smart and scary wicked antagonist, and Colman Domingo becomes a cool, fashionably dressed game show host. The video without doubt is a showcase of a tough, high-energy ride including bombastic action and many shocking eliminations. Additionally, the performance of Katy O’Brian as a woman with a strong presence is also depicted, which creates an additional edge for the movie.
Besides Powell, there are many other well-known people who take part in the project— William H. Macy, Karl Glusman, David Zayas, Jayme Lawson, Lee Pace, Sean Hayes, and Michael Cera. Together with the director’s cast, The Running Man can be really awesome and is likely to be one of the best action movies of the coming year.
Wright has been gradually working on this new film and now the release date is scheduled for November 7. If we take into account the previous work of the director, such as Scott Pilgrim vs. the World as well as Last Night in Soho, we can expect to see vivid visuals, dark themes, and much of Wright’s own humor in this new movie. The movie would also not lose on the action front, which could very well feel like it is from Charlie
With his charismatic manner and an increasingly established status as a leading star, Powell is convincing that he will soon take over the name of Hollywood's next big leading man. From Top Gun: Maverick to Devotion and Hit Man, he’s been on fire, and The Running Man could be the film that cements his place at the top.
Mark your calendars—The Running Man hits theaters on November 7, 2025!
