Spider-Man & Venom Crossover: What Could Have Been and What’s Next?

Spider-Man & Venom Crossover: What Could Have Been and What’s Next?

Info in Movie News | Tom Hardy recently revealed that the long-rumored about the collaboration or crossover of Venom and Spider-Man were almost true. If the picture was not taken by the crew, it would have been a reality. Hardy added that his intention to a potential the crossover wasn’t about box office success but about delivering what younger audiences wanted—seeing their needs, that is their favorite characters together on the cinema screen.

According to Collider, Venom: Let There Be Carnage director Andy Serkis had previously stated that a Venom and Spider-Man showdown was inevitable. Nevertheless, he pointed out the necessity of outlining the Venom universe concept first rather than immediately integrating it into Peter Parker’s story.

Although the unfortunate fact that there was no crossover, the fans are optimistic that Venom and Spider-Man will have a face-off on the big screen one day to settle the score.

Venom and Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Marvel Studios raised the curtain on the news of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the new movie scheduled to hit the theaters on July 31, 2026. The announcement has come with an ample amount of grace as not only the safety rules have changed but the movie crew retained their efficiency throughout the whole period of building and developing a storyline and important moments. Throughout the years, Spidey has not collaborated with Venom.

This will be an awesome time to add Venom to the Spider-Man series. The addition of Venom would make Peter Parker's life more intricate and give it a new layer of depth, in fact, his moral belay would put through in the fight against good and bad as well as pushing his abilities to the extreme.

A Spider-Man and Venom crossover has been highly anticipated for years. While past studio conflicts have kept the characters apart, recent comments from Sony and Marvel suggest that the possibility is more open than ever.

Bringing Venom into Spider-Man: Brand New Day wouldn’t just satisfy fans—it would also create a richer, more dynamic story within the MCU.

Looking Ahead: Could Anti-Venom Enter the Picture?

Taking the story even further, Brand New Day could also pave the way for Anti-Venom’s introduction. In the New Ways to Die storyline from the comics, Eddie Brock, the former Venom host, undergoes a transformation after being cured of cancer by Martin Li (Mister Negative). The remnants of the symbiote that Brock’s body has left been given new life by his immune system. So, the immune system created a new white symbiote called Anti-Venom.

Among other unique features, Anti-Venom can both diagnose and cure diseases while making viruses other symbiotes inert. When he was fighting Mac Gargan (at that moment, the host of Venom), Anti-Venom almost got rid of the Venom symbiote for good. Yet, it turned out that Norman Osborn interfered with a counter-serum he developed. By fusing DNA samples with a superseded serum immune system, he created an upgraded Scorpion suit for Gargan.

If Anti-Venom was introduced in Brand New Day, it would be fantastic. The Anti-Venom character would give added shades of grey to the ongoing Spider-Man versus Venom story and be about redemption and internal conflict. Eddie Brock’s journey taking a turn towards becoming an anti-hero/villain since the MCU is now open to new and varied storylines, is an idea that cannot be underestimated.

Despite the fact that Spider-Man and Venom still haven’t encountered each other, Spider-Man: Brand New Day could be the best setting for it. If there is a massive battle or Anti-Venom making his move, the future of Spider-Man and Venom’s intertwined fate in the MCU is looking more exciting than ever.
