According to Variety, The North American rights to the movie were acquired by Freestyle Digital Media, the digital distribution arm of Byron Allen’s Allen Media Group. The Harvest has even taken the prestigious "New Voice in Black Cinema" award at the festival circuit. The film went through various festivals that included Santa Barbara International Film Festival, and achieved acclaim at events like CAAMFest, Outfest Fusion, and the Seattle Asian-American Film Festival, where it was awarded the Audience Award.

Much of Formerly known as In the Life of Music, Cambodian feature, and now The Harvest director is Caylee So. Back to his Southern California where he was born and raised, Thailand, now Thai (essayed by Moua), is the story of the film In the Life of Music when a man prepares to leave San Francisco after many years. But the home he returns to is not as he remembers it. Unable to get along, Thailand's father is unintendedly tormenting kidney failure suffering a terrible fate at home, and the uninitiated feelings erupt from a patriarchal family that is undeniably a weird non-talkative one.

Among the actors in the film are Perry Yung (Warrior), Dawn Ying Yuen (Forge), Chrisna Chhor, and Lucas Velazquez (100 Dias Para Enamorarnos). Being very quiet and intimate, the film communicates generational psychological disorders and the natural wish to get the approval and attention of your family.

Produced by John Houselog and Moua, the project also features a powerhouse executive producer team: Yoson An (Mulan, Shadow Force), Money Vang, Jaeson Ma, Eric Tu, and Tenten Wei from EST Studios.
